Assoc. Prof. Dr. Viroch Impithuksa, Acting President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhonis pushing forward RMUTP infrastructure development plan into 3 phases; short-term, medium-term, and long-term and invited Assoc. Prof. Manop Pongsatat to advise.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Impithuksa invited Assoc. Prof. Pongsatat , a former deputy advisor of the Governor of Bangkok, Sukhumbhand Paribatra , a former Vice President for Student Affairs of Chulalongkorn University to be the consultant of RMUTP infrastructure development plan. The plan consisted of 3 phases; short-term, medium-term, and long-term. Short-term projects consisted of developing the landscape by planting the university flower, Bue Chalong Kwan or King of Siam, and university tree, Inthanin or Thai crape myrtle. The medium and long-term consisted of changing the names of RMUTP education centers to correspond with each center’s history and to make known of the university’s long recapitulation The new names of the 3 centers are:
•Prince Ratchaburi Direk Rit Palace Center(Thewes and Chotiwet Center)
• Prince Chumporn Ket Udomsak Palace Center(Bangkok Commercial Center)
•North Bangkok Center
In addition, long-term plan also consisted of building a new educational center to house the General Education for first and second year students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Viroch Impithuksaconcluded that “RMUTP is not mine, but ours. We have to share responsibility to develop this university for the students and the community because students are RMUTP heart: RMUTP hands-on graduates are the heart of the country.
